After having written about my hometown Genova, I want to focus on my favourite foreign city: Madrid!!

I have a true passion for this city and I’m lucky enough to have the possibility to go there 4-5 times a year.

The capital of Spain since 1562, Madrid is located on the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula. Because of its central location and high altitude, the climate of Madrid is characterized by warm dry summers and cool winters.

Madrid is a city of great monuments. Among its highlights are the medieval center dating back to the Habsburg Empire and the Prado Museum.

But Madrid is not just a cultural destination. It is also a lively metropolis with many pubs, cafes, discotheques and nightclubs open late at the night.

Madrid is the perfect city to spend a week end with your friends, wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend: you have amazing building such as the “Metropolis Building”..

.. The “Plaza Mayor”, “Plaza Cibeles”, the “Barrio de Salamanca” where you can find the best brands’ shops, and many other attractive places that you cannot miss

The food is great too; you can have the typical spanish tapas everywhere and you can find very good restaurants where you can have either meat and fish!

At night Madrid is ideal for young people, thanks to very amusing pubs and discoteques, as well as for tourists who want to enjoy a calm and elegant dinner.

I am literally in love with this city and I suggest everybody to spend at least a couple of days in Madrid.

Talking about horology, Madrid offers a huge quantity of reliable shops where you can find the best watch brands.

In the heart of the city (Calle José Ortega y Gasset and Serrano) you can find Blancpain, Panerai, Cartier, Tiffany, Omega, Chopard, Audemars Piguet, Wempe Jewellery and the prestigious “Joyeria Grassy” where you can find famous brands such as: Rolex, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Hublot, F.P.Journe, ecc.

I want to focus on my favourite watch shop in Madrid: “MONTEJO JOYEROS”

It is the oldest jeweler’s in the “Barrio de Salamanca” and it was created in 1964.
