Patek Philippe Corner 1

Patek Philippe – The last independent Genevan watch manufacturer

As an independent family owned company, Patek Philippe enjoys total creative freedom to design, produce and assemble what experts agree to be the finest timepieces in the world. With its vast experience and more than 70 patents to its credit, Patek Philippe is the only manufacture that crafts all of its mechanical movements according to the strict specifications of the Geneva Seal. These precious, timeless elegant watches, proudly handed down from one generation to the next, are the result of latest-generation technology combined with traditional watchmaking know-how.
Today, Patek Philippe includes the main workshops and headquarters at Plan-les-Ouates, the case and bracelet workshops at Perly, the Patek Philippe Museum at Plainpalais, all in Geneva, as well as the Patek Philippe Salons in Geneva, Paris, and London.

How to know everything about Patek Philippe

We know that there are many Patek Philippe collectors from all over the world and we would like to inform them about the best sources to find RELIABLE information.

The best books about Patek Philippe were published by Guido Mondani Editore, in collaboration with the expert Osvaldo Patrizzi. Two of these editions are not available anymore and they represent collectable pieces themselves (Collecting Patek Philippe Wristwatches, edition I and II); The last work about this brand is titled "Collecting Nautilus and Modern and Vintage Patek Philippe Wristwatches" and it is available on our on - line store.

These 3 volumes represent the most complete work ever realized on Patek Philippe. They include more than 2000 Patek Philippe wristwatches, everyone photographed in natural colors and more than 500 full page images..

The first two volumes show Patek Philippe wristwatches from their creation to 2003 and the third one is divided into two parts: one is about all the creations from 2004 to 2010 and the other one, larger and prevalent, is entirely dedicated to NAUTILUS models.

This model was designed in 1972 by Geral Genta and it was born from a sketch on a napkin in a Basel restaurant. This book explains all its characteristics and goes through its evolution from 1976.

If you want to read curiosities and good information, my friend Jake (creator of Rolexmagazine.com), launched Jake's Patek Philippe World (http://patekwatch.blogspot.com/) .

This is what Jake says :

"Welcome to Jake's Patek Philippe World Blog!!!

I created my Patek Philippe blog because I wanted to share all the insight I have gained over more than the last quarter-century, regarding Patek Phillipe.

As a designer, I have always been deeply inspired by any and all examples of timeless design. Patek Philippe represents one of the best examples I am aware of when it comes to timeless design and excellence.

It has been said, elegance knows no pain, and Patek Philippe is and has always been the epitome of elegant complexity in the horological world.

Patek Philippe is internationally renowned for historically making the most detailed and complicated timepieces. These magnificent masterpieces not only tell you the time, but they also transcend time, and tell you something about yourself."
We hope you will find all the information you need in these books and web sites. Don't hesitate to contact Mondani Editore for further enquiries.
