Chronographs

In 1930’s Rolex advertises different Chronographs models : from the single button chronographs (refs. 2022-2023-2303) to the chronograph ref. 2508. In 1937 Rolex markets a round chronograph, ref. 2811, and launches the references with push-back case (non Oyster): 2916, 2917, 2918, 2919, 2920 and 2937. In 1938 Rolex realizes the Oyster CENTREGRAPH with ref. 3462 and single button as well as the chronograph (non Oyster) called the “COINEDGE”, ref. 3233 with two registers (produced until 1941 only in gold and in stainless steel) and ref. 3330 with three registers.    In 1939 it presents three new non waterproof chronographs (the refs. 3335 3484 and 3529), and the first stainless steel Oyster chronograph with a two body screwed back case of only 28 mm diameter: the ref. 3481. In 1940’s Rolex produces the following references: 3668, 3827, 3835, 4048, 4099. The ref. 3525, known as “BARILETTO”, was realized in 1940, and the chronograph with two registers (ref. 4062) in 1942. The three register chronograph with push-back case, the ref. 9162, was realized some years later. Again in 1942 Rolex creates the ref. 4113: the “split-seconds chronograph”. For just one year (1946) Rolex produces the ref. 4500, a two register chronograph known as “Monoblocco”. The following year Rolex launches the refs. 4767 e 4768: two new chronographs with register and calendar, better known as “DATO-COMPAX” (the last “Dato-Compax ” produced was the ref. 6236 in 1958), and in 1948 it creates a new waterproof model with ref. 6036.
1950 is the year of two of the most important chronographs ever produced by Rolex: the refs. 6034 6032. After the discontinued production of the ref. 6034, Rolex creates a new model with three body case, the ref. 6234, and presents in 1962 the ref. 6238, known as “PRE-DAYTONA”.
